Additive manufacturing and part optimisation
Additive manufacturing is a relatively new but exponentially developing science. Compared with traditional sustractive processes, designers have quite a lot of design freedom in terms of the geometry of the parts that can be created. For this reason, the development of 3D printing also encourages the development of some related disciplines, such as geometric optimization (topological optimization). However, like all production technology processes, 3D printing also has its limits, therefore my goal in my research is simultaneous production and production optimization supplemented by taking into account these limiting factors.
