Tuition Fee Refund For International Self-Financed Students

Based on the decision of the Faculty Council of the Faculty of Informatics at Eötvös Loránd University, newly admitted students are only eligible for a tuition fee refund if they fully withdraw their intention to start the programme and submit a refund request before the end of the registration period of the relevant semester. 

The refund can be requested via e-mail at finances@inf.elte.hu. You can access the refund data sheet via the following link:

Please note that fluctuations in the exchange rate between the euro and the Hungarian forint may result in differences in the refunded amount. 

Kindly attach to your request:

  • original bank statement
  • visa rejection letter (if applicable)

After submitting the refund data sheet and the attachment(s) via email, please allow up to 12 weeks for the committee’s decision. The processing of the refund may take up to 120 calendar days. 

Information regarding reservation fee:
Request form needs to be submitted before the end of the registration period:

  • According to the University’s decision, from the academic year 2025/26/2 onwards, admitted students who are unable to register due to visa refusal will be charged a reservation fee amounting to 10% of the paid tuition fee.
  • In all other cases the reservation fee is 100%, which may be reduced by the Dean of the Faculty based on an individual request by the applicant (medical/official certificates needed).
