During the registration period, it is possible to submit an equity request (in case of requesting tuition fee reduction or payment in installments). In case your tuition fee is paid by an outside facility, you can request an invoice for the payment in Neptun.
Additional information:
Personal appearance at the PhD office is not required for registration.
Until the doctoral student has completed the mandatory 24 study credits in the training and research phase, it is mandatory to take a 6-credit course each semester. A course advertised under a given code and title can only be completed once. (Retakes are only possible in the case of unsuccessful completion.)
Taking courses outside the doctoral school: Courses taken outside the doctoral school can only be recognised and count towards the completion of the programme based on a written request signed by the topic supervisor. This must be handed in by the student during the registration period at the beginning of the given semester, following the approval of the Council of the Doctoral School of Informatics. The request cannot be submitted after the registration period.
These subjects are recorded in the Neptun system by the PhD School administrator at the end of the semester, after approval by the Doctoral School Council and submission of an official document verifying the completion.
A maximum of 50% of the study credits required to obtain the pre-degree certificate (absolutorium) may be earned through partial training or credit transfer.
In case of subjects announced within the doctoral schools, courses organised with 1 contact hour (45 minutes) per week shall be worth a maximum of 3 credits, courses organised with 2 contact hours shall be worth a maximum of 6 credits. Courses announced in a Bachelor’s programme shall be worth a maximum of 3 credits.
A brief summary of the credit requirements can be found under the Credit System and Administration of Studies menu. The detailed requirements for the Doctoral School of Informatics can be found in Annex 6/3 of the ELTE University Doctoral Regulations (the regulations containing faculty specificities of the Doctoral School of Informatics).
