Enrolment

After the successful admission, PhD students are required to enrol to the Doctoral School, in order to establish their student status.

Documents required for enrolment:

  • ID card or passport: original and photocopy (in the case of a non-Hungarian citizens, the settlement/residence permit);
  • Social security number, tax number, bank account number, address card: original and photocopy;
  • 1 passport photo;
  • BSc, MSc degrees and language exam certificates: original and photocopy;
  • Enrolment sheet form printed and signed from Neptun (the enrolment form can be printed in the Neptun electronic study system under the Information menu under General forms); 2 signed copies
  • Study agreement form (only for tuition fee paying students) 2 signes copies
  • signed scholarship agreement (only for Stipendium Hungaricum students), 1 signed copy
  • Doctoral study plan – 8 semeters (signed by the supervisor).

We are unable to make photocopies or print forms during the registration process. Please bring these with you, filled out in advance.

The student ID card can only be requested at the Quaestura Central Office after REGISTRATION for the first semester. Q-square (elte.hu)

Before enrolling, please carefully read the ELTE University Doctoral Regulations and the ELTE Organisational and Operational Regulations (Volume 2, Academic Regulations for Students), which contain the university and faculty-level regulations of the doctoral training.

The regulations provide information on the credits to be completed during the training, the conditions for semester registration and successful completion of semesters, the conditions for obtaining the absolutorium and the doctoral degree acquisition procedure. The special provisions concerning the Doctoral School of Informatics can be found in Annex 6/3 of the ELTE University Doctoral Regulations.

Students may postpone the start of their studies after enrollment. You can read more about the conditions for postponement and interruption of the students status in the Interruption of the Student Status menu.

In the study plan to be submitted during enrollment, doctoral students must detail how they plan the acquisition of the credits required for the absolutorium during the training (240 credits are mandatory). The amount of credits to be obtained from study (course completion), research and possibly teaching activities must be stated in a semester breakdown.
