The ELTE Faculty of Informatics Knowledge Map presents the Faculty’s expertise, research directions, infrastructure, and collaboration network. Its goal is to give a clear overview of available research tools, methods, and competencies, offering insight into ongoing projects, and applied technologies. This platform is intended to help foster interdisciplinary cooperation, support innovation, and facilitate the formation of new national and international partnerships across academia, industry, and education.

The Faculty’s research spans the theoretical foundations of computer science and modern application domains. Key areas include the technology of reliable complex software systems (verifiability, fault tolerance, high-abstraction development); domain-specific programming languages; large-scale data analysis; and data and software security. Further directions include cyber-physical systems, autonomous vehicle control, robotics (field robotics, sensor fusion), artificial intelligence and machine learning (model-driven AI, human–machine interaction, autonomous systems), as well as quantum informatics, quantum communication, post-quantum cryptography, cartography, and educational methodology. Materials science and aerodynamic studies also integrate into this diverse ecosystem.

We would like to draw your attention to the fact that ELTE is fully eligible for all Horizon Europe and other EU-funded collaborations, as it is not affected by the Commission’s restrictions; this is confirmed in the Rector’s Declaration, and further details are available in the EC Funding & Tenders FAQ. We welcome inquiries regarding Horizon Europe and other EU collaborations at dekan@inf.elte.hu.
