About MSc in Mechanical Engineering programme
Our MSc in Mechanical Engineering training is 4 semesters long. This program enables students to obtain fundamental knowledge in the science of Mechanical Engineering in Production Technologies. The high standard of training is guaranteed by the highly qualified academic staff. Teaching is supported by modern infrastructure (tensile tester, CNC machines, SEM microscope, robots, etc…) and well equipped computer labs (software like Ansys, Solid Edge, Inventor, ADAMS).

How much does it cost?
The tuition fee is 3,200.00 EUR per semester and needs to be paid by the time the semester starts OR in case you need it for a visa, until the deadline of the visa administration.
Furthermore, you have to pay a 150 EUR application fee. (It is a NON-REFUNDABLE one-time fee) It is the fee of the administration costs of your application: to check your documents, organize your test, and interview. Without this fee, your application will be rejected.
How can I apply?

IMPORTANT! Before submitting your application, please double-check your personal data AND the e-mail address you have provided, that e-mail address will be your official e-mail address, and we will write you information letters ONLY onto this e-mail address. In case you would like to change your e-mail address later, please write an e-mail to ta@inf.elte.hu
Please, sign in at the site and upload the following application materials wholly:
- Copies of your secondary school finishing documents (GCE / GCSE / …)
- Bachelor-level degree. If you don’t have a final document yet (because you’re in your final year), you can send it later, as soon as possible, but please send us your transcript anyway.
- Transcript of records
Without these documents the admission committee rejects your application!
- Copy of any further documents, course descriptions about your education. E.g. computer courses, higher education, language exams etc.
- A curriculum vitae, listing your personal data, your educational background, and work experience (if you have), and mentioning whatever you find relevant.
- A motivation letter describing your situation and objectives with applying to our University’s course.
- A copy of the main pages of your valid passport.
- A passport photo not older than 3 months.
- A copy of your medical certificate, which can be issued by the nearest hospital or doctor; it should state that you do not carry any contagious diseases and you are found physically and mentally fit for higher education abroad.
- Proof of application fee transfer – 150 EUR
In case the academic transcript of your Bachelor studies is missing, your application will be rejected.
In case any of the necessary documents is still missing by the application deadline, your application will be rejected.
If a document is not in English, please send both a copy of original and an official English translation, otherwise we cannot evaluate it.
Of course, you must take the original entry qualification documents along with you when you finally come to the university.
In case you apply for more than one training programme in an application period, only one application fee needs to be paid.
What happens next?
- If you payed the application fee, your documents will be checked.
- If you have uploaded everything correctly, you will get an invitation e-mail for an online interview to your e-mail address registered during the application process.
- During the interview applicants are required to prove their English language and communicational skills by replying to questions about their previous studies, motivation, work experiences, hobbies, BSc Thesis work, etc.
- The decision will be made by the Admission Committee based on a total evaluation of the academic excellence (based on the submitted documents) and the results of the entrance interview.
The Faculty does not have any example tests.
- Once everything is done and your results exceed the expected level, you will receive a Letter of Acceptance via the application site.
- With the Letter of Acceptance you can apply for a visa.
How to pay the application fee of 150 EUR? - Essential guide
- Open the official payment platform of ELTE.
- Accept the privacy notices at the bottom of the page.
- Then click on Start Shopping.
- Select the Faculty (Faculty of Informatics) from the drop-down menu,
- then the payment title (application fee),
- then add the related study programme in the Subtitle section.
- Click on To the Cart.
- The cart summary will appear on the right-hand side of the screen. If you selected the right fee, click on Next.
- Fill out the Billing data.
- IMPORTANT!!! Fill in following Notice: Mechanical Engineering MSc, E12205/22
Without the correct comment, your payment will not be accepted! - then click on Go to Payment.
- Check your billing information; if everything is correct, click 'Pay'.
Rules regarding application fee:
- The fee can only be paid via the ELTE Webshop.
- Cash payment is not accepted.
- The fee can only be paid in euros (EUR).
- No other currency is accepted.
- The application fee is non-refundable, non-transferable, and non-redistributable.
- If you apply for multiple courses, you must pay the fee separately for each course.
- A third party can also pay on your behalf (e.g. family member, academic advisor, representative).
- We do not accept group payments: a separate transaction is required for each application.
- In case of re-application, the fee must be paid again.
- Payment of the fee does not mean automatic admission.
