Main research areas
In a broad sense, the study of research and practical applications related to the graphic representation of geo-referenced data. From a cartographic point of view, we study traditional and modern solutions for data representation that can be used on any digital map.
Children's early (pre-school) introduction to their immediate environment, orientation and maps: what research is being done around the world on this topic, how the results can be adapted to our specific environment, what practical solutions can be developed and applied using (also) modern techniques.
Research is developed on a narrower, more specific field of map history: the relationship of the Hungarian-born American cartographer Erwin Raisz to educational cartography in general, and to the development of Cuban cartography in a narrower sense. It includes the study of the research that Raisz carried out on various themes (landforms, cartograms, geographical education, atlas editing, etc.) and the impact of his work on cartography.
