The project created an effective research network in the field of ICT and computer science, strengthened the international embedding of research, increased potential for participation in EU tenders, and trained the supply of researchers. The research activities were based on three pillars:

Software development methods and IT security
Software development methods and tools supporting software development must also follow the increase in the complexity of software. This pillar of research focused on the production and quality characteristics of software that is central to any IT solution (with a special focus on cybersecurity).

ICT infrastructures and cyber-physical systems
Internet of Things devices are behind the services we use on a daily basis, while cloud-based applications ensure the storage, access and processing of data from anywhere and at any time. In the research we focused on IoT communication protocols, real-time cyber-physical systems, and developments that increase the efficiency of radio and wired network solutions.

Intelligent data analysis
We studied techniques for machine learning and applications of bio-inspired computating. The research was directly linked to the EU's Big Data action plan. We investigated the analysis, interpretation, and use of large-scale biological, geospatial, and medical data for the prediction of the behavior of various systems.

The project has been supported by the European Union, co-financed by the European Social Fund.
