Credit Overrun Fee – Elective Subjects

- You can complete courses worth 10% more credits than required free of charge.
- Beyond this 10%, elective courses that are not offered by the Faculty of Informatics are subject to a fee of 10,000 HUF/credit (this amount is the same as the fee agreed upon by the Faculty Council for guest student credits, which has been 10,000 HUF/credit since September 2023). The exceptions are vocational college and HSUP subjects, which are free of charge. The basis of the calculation is the credit value of the elective courses to be completed in the student's curriculum + credits over 10% of the total credits in the curriculum. For instance, BSc in Computer Science with a full-time work schedule: 10 credits (curriculum) + 18 credits (10%) = above 28 credits; you are required to pay for elective subjects not advertised offered by the Faculty of Informatics. The credit value of vocational college and HSUP subjects is deducted before determining the amount to be paid.
- If you took subjects from other faculties before September 2023 and thus have exceeded the number of optional credits specified in your curriculum, you will only have to pay a fee for subjects offered by other faculties and taken after September 2023.
- You can still take subjects from the subject selection offered by the Faculty of Informatics at a fee of 0 HUF/credit i.e. for free.
